Chaka Bars

Chakabars is a globally recognized activist and philanthropist, known for his deep commitment to empowering oppressed communities. Inspired by the resilience of his own upbringing, he developed a strong sense of social responsibility early on. His journey toward global impact began with travels to Africa, where witnessing the struggles of marginalized populations sparked his lifelong dedication to social justice.

Since then, Chakabars has led numerous initiatives to combat systemic inequality, building schools, shelters, and medical centers across Africa. His work extends to Jamaica and other regions with African diaspora communities, where he continues to advocate for equity and provide vital resources. Through his unwavering efforts, Chakabars has become a powerful force for change, offering hope and tangible opportunities to those in need.

Urenna Akenke Best Gayle

Since August 8, 2019, she has served as the Director General of the National Secretariat for the Development of Afro-Panamanians (SENADAP), playing a key role in advancing the rights and development of Afro-descendant communities in Panama. Her leadership and advocacy are rooted in deep expertise and a longstanding commitment to equity and empowerment.

Beyond Panama, she has made a significant international impact through roles with UNICEF, OHCHR, and as Coordinator of the Ibero-American Network of Indigenous and Afro-descendant Youth (REJINA). With a strong academic background in Law, Political Science, and International Relations, she has led seminars, advised global agencies, and was honored in 2018 by MIPAD as one of the 100 most influential people under 40 in Politics and Governance during the International Decade for People of African Descent.
